What is this site all about?
This
site is intended to answer your queries about rockabilly, and is aimed at:
•Bewildered
novices, who might be asking themselves "What is rockabilly?"
•Curious lapsers, who might be wondering
"Are there still any rockabillies out there?"
Who am I and what do I know about rockabilly?
Well, I'm a curious lapser! I was on the scene for about four years from '85 to '89, then did the round-the-world thing, came back, settled out of London and so found myself becoming less outwardly involved in the scene – although my records never got dusty!
And why create this site?
Well, I still love the music of course, but I guess I just miss the spirit of the scene and the sense of contented belonging that being a part of it gave me. Creating this web site has given me an excuse to call up old friends, look through old photos, dig out my old clothes and visit a couple of old haunts!
